ALCOVE CERAMICS BY ALLISON
My work sits at an intersection of functional and sculptural. Finding balance between art and function. Inviting the audience to interact with and experience my work in more ways than just visually. I find joy in the tactility of ceramics, encouraging the user to experience, engage and enjoy this as well. My work is unified through medium and practice, as well as fantastical inspiration. Inviting the user to engage in this realm visually and tactually.
I studied Studio Art with a focus in ceramics at Hunter College in New York City. While living in Brooklyn, I expanded my technical knowledge and deepened my understanding of ceramics through both my personal work and my role as a teacher. I continue to teach and create at Chicago Ceramic Center.
